WWE NXT 2.0: New Champions Crowned; Big match announcement

The unpredictable team of Katana Chance and Kayden Carter defeated Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jessie Zayn, Ulissa Leone and Valentina Feroze, and Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley in a fatal 4-way elimination match to win the vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Feroze and Lyon take down the first team when Neil pins Feroze with his right hand. Zayn then pinned Paxley and sent him into the ring post to eliminate Neil and Paxley’s team.

In the final minute, Chance hit a 450-splash on Dolin, while Carter took care of Zayn to secure a pin-fall win. Thus, Chance and Carter became the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions to a huge ovation from the NXT audience.

Cora Z and Roxanne Perez captured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles from Dolin and Zayn at the WWE NXT Great American Bash in early July. Just one week after that victory, Jade turned on her colleague and trashed her individual championship belt to clean it up.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Chance and Carter secured the most important win of their careers on the final night. They have been workers since 2018, and last night’s win marked their first title match win in WWE. Prior to that, his highest accolades were reaching the semifinals of the 2021 and 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classics.

Next week’s WWE NXT card will feature several matches that will see Nikita Leone in action. For weeks now, she’s been gunning for the NXT Women’s Championship held by Mandy Rose

An injury forced her to withdraw from the Women’s Breakout Tournament two weeks ago at NXT 2.0 after failing to win a 20-woman battle royal. She will now face Kiana James, and a win could put her back in the title picture.

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose returned a favor to Cora Z this week and took away from her fix to keep Joy Stark out of the title match. In return, Jade was promised a title shot at Heatwave. It is later confirmed that Stark will fight Jade next week.

The two are brought in for a one-round match where they wrestle for six rounds, with each round lasting three minutes. A boxing-type setup will be provided where we expect a shooting fight to begin.
